The keys to two new buses were ceremoniously handed over to the school principals of the villages of Giska and Protyagaylovka in Bendery. The ceremony was attended by Supreme Council deputies Oleg Petrik and Anton Onufrienko. The vehicles, purchased from a special government fund, will help children get to school and back home quickly, conveniently and safely.
The buses are small – each for 16 seats. Several trips are organized where the number of children who need transportation is greater than the number of seats.
"Our children live in different parts of the village, and it is difficult for them to get there. Minibuses run on a certain schedule, sometimes it is out of schedule, which is inconvenient, since the children are late for school. "More than 50 children live in such a remote location," added Larisa Kodatskaya, headmaster of school No. 14 in the village of Protyagaylovka.
As reported by the News of Pridnestrovie agency, transporting children from the outskirts of villages, and often even from neighboring settlements where there are no schools, is the main goal of this project. School buses have been donated to villages in Pridnestrovie for several years now. 17 buses left the capital for different regions of the republic at the end of August this year. According to the law, if children live more than 1 km from a school, their transportation to the educational institution must be organized.
The children will be able to travel to sports competitions, olympiads, and excursions throughout Pridnestrovie by means of the school buses.
