The Healthcare New State Program

19.02.2025

Two state programs in the field of healthcare ended at the end of last year, "Prevention of HIV/AIDS infection and sexually transmitted infections" and "Prevention of viral hepatitis B and C in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". Prevention and treatment activities will continue. The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic adopted in the second final reading the draft of the new state program, combining previously existing areas.

The new state program will be designed for 2025 - 2028. The main goal is to contain the spread of HIV infection, viral hepatitis and STIs, reduce morbidity, increase life expectancy and improve the quality of life of people with HIV and viral hepatitis B and C. Specialists will constantly monitor the situation with diseases, test citizens for HIV/syphilis and viral hepatitis B and C, and vaccinate.

The head of the relevant parliamentary committee Sergei Cheban in a comment to journalists reported that a working meeting was held in the Supreme Council with relevant specialists, where it was noted that the republic has a stock of necessary medicines for citizens suffering from these types of diseases. The issue of financing the state program this year will be discussed in parliament when considering the remainder of the republican budget last year, Sergei Cheban noted.

The deputies adopted almost 70 editorial amendments when considering the draft state program in the second reading. The new law has been sent to the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for signature.
