The third day in a row Tiraspol residents are celebrating the birthday of their beloved city. On October 14, the holiday coincided with the church - Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Festive services were held in all the churches of the capital. A prayer service at the Intercession Chapel in the presence of Mayor Oleg Dovgopol, Chairman of the Tiraspol City Council Albina Ivanova, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva, parishioners served the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa.
A symbolic place was chosen for the service. In the very center of Tiraspol, not far from the current city Palace of Culture, there was the Intercession Church. A hundred years ago, the temple was destroyed, and last year, by the Day of the city, a chapel was built at this place, under which there was a prayer service.
Addressing the participants in the prayer service, the archbishop noted that every year Tiraspol is becoming more beautiful, more guests come to the capital, visiting not only its sights, but also places of worship. Vladyka Sawa urged the leaders of the capital city to take more care of its inhabitants and to equip Tiraspol.
Festive events continued at the holy place for each Pridnestrovian - the capital's Memorial of Glory, where a solemn ceremony of laying flowers was held. A moment of silence honored the memory of all whose lives were cut short by the evil will of the war. The first flowers were laid at granite slabs by the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva, as well as colleagues in the deputy corps Igor Buga, Peter Pasat, Vadim Levitsky, Ruslan Gareev, Mikhail Burla.
Fresh flowers also lay at the monument to the founder of Tiraspol, Alexander Suvorov, busts of Empress Catherine the Great, the first architect of the city, Franz de Volan. This year, Generalissimo Suvorov is 290, and his monument, which has become the symbol of the whole of Pridnestrovie, is 40.
The 227th anniversary of the founding of Tiraspol was marked by two significant events. The Head of the state administration of the capital Oleg Dovgopol, and the chairman of the Tiraspol City Council of People's Deputies, Albina Ivanova, unveiled a memorial stone laid in the foundation of the monument to the Russian Empress Catherine the Second. It will become the main decoration of the now-equipped Catherine Park. Its opening is scheduled for September 2, 2020, when our republic will turn 30.
It has already become a good tradition to lay time capsules - a kind of message to posterity. Tiraspol and its next birthday were no exception. In the immured capsule at the base of the monument to the Russian Empress, they put the order of the mayor of the capital signed here.
It is symbolic that the right to brick up the time capsule was granted to representatives of the young generation of Tiraspol residents - pupils of the Tiraspol Suvorov Military School.
