Veterans do not age with soul

"March of Veterans" song was performed at the House of Soviets by folk choir "Red Carnation", soloist Valery Glazkov. The song was written specially for the anniversary of the NGO “Veterans of War, Labor and Armed Forces of Tiraspol”, which turned 20 years old, and will now become the anthem of the organization. With a bravura melody, the celebration of the members of the leading public organization began, which brought together representatives of the Supreme Council, Government, state administration of Tiraspol, the capital city council. The legislature was represented by the chairman of the parliamentary committee on public associations, sports, information and youth policy Igor Buga.

On behalf of the deputy corps, he conveyed welcome address of the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov.

Wishing veterans “health for many years, inexhaustible energy, love and respect from the young generation,” the speaker of the parliament noted the paramount importance of the social work of the veteran organization.

Today, 7962 people are in the ranks of the capital's veteran organization, 46 of which are participants in the Great Patriotic War, 170 widows, 331 home front workers, 163 veterans of the Armed Forces. Since January 1, 2019, thanks to the law adopted by the Supreme Council, children of war have also joined the public organization, having received this social status by law. And today, despite their advanced age, members of the public organization “Veterans of War, Labor and the Armed Forces of Tiraspol” maintain an active life position, engage in patriotic education of the younger generation, prevent the blackening of the past, rewriting of history, of which they are living witnesses and creators.

The welcome address of the President was read out by the Prime Minister Alexander Martynov. He fulfilled the honorary order of the President and handed over state awards to members of the organization.

Vladimir Lebedev, head of the Tiraspol Veterans Public Organization, made a festive greeting to like-minded people. According to him, the 20th anniversary is a good occasion to express appreciation for what veterans have already done and are doing today for the prosperity of their native city and the whole republic. A special honor was given to veterans of the Great Patriotic War sitting in the front row.

Addressing the youth, the first President of the PMR said: take care of the foundations on which veterans lived. He presented the organization’s library with a selection of books on the history of Pridnestrovie, proposed by members of the Advisory Assembly of the First Pridnestrovian Deputies.

At the suggestion of the first President of the republic, those gathered in the hall honored with a minute of silence veterans, members of the organization who passed away.

On behalf of the city authorities, the anniversary veterans were welcomed by the head of the state administration Oleg Dovgopol and the chairman of the Tiraspol City Council Albina Ivanova.

At the end of the anniversary event, the chairman of the Republican public organization “Veterans of War, Labor and the Armed Forces of the PMR”, Yuri Ilyashenko handed over letters of honor to veterans of the capital who distinguished themselves by their active social activities.
