A minor child whose parent died can apply for a survivor's pension under current legislation. They need to contact the Social Security Center to do this. You do not need to prove that you are dependent. There is a different procedure for registration for adult children. They must prove the fact of being dependent, as there are cases when children lived separately from a parent. The PMR Prosecutor proposed to change the approach. Today, the deputies of the Supreme Council considered the package of proposed legislations.
The deputies supported the legislations in the first reading. Amendments are being made to three laws: “On the state pension provision of citizens in the PMR”, “On the state pension provision of persons who have served in the military, served in the internal affairs bodies, the penitentiary system, the service of bailiffs, tax and customs authorities, and their families” and “On pension provision for employees of the prosecutor's office with class ranks and their families in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”.
The initiatives were adopted in the first reading in the course of the plenary session. The Committee on Social Policy intends to prepare amendments suggesting that the simplified mechanism for issuing a survivor's pension will apply to full-time students for the second reading, regardless of whether they pay tuition or study on a budgetary basis.
It was noted at the plenary session, that the survivor's pension averages 1200 rubles, and is calculated depending on the income received by the parent.
