The first Pridnestrovian deputies, members of the advisory assembly under the Chairman of the Supreme Council discussed issues that citizens today are concerned about. One of the topics of the meeting is the situation on the foreign exchange market. The first deputy chairman of the PRB Alexey Melnik answered the questions of the founders of the republic. He informed the first deputies about the measures already taken by the central bank, and about the results achieved after the establishment of the new ruble rate.
After a long pause, the currency mechanism still managed to be launched. Now the market itself will adjust real demand and supply to the currency.
When they asked about the commission fee paid today by buyers of foreign currency, the representative of the PRB replied that "the goal of the central bank is to reduce it to zero". Even today, banks charge a commission in a smaller amount.
Members of the advisory meeting expressed concerns about the growth of prices and tariffs for utilities in connection with the definition of a new ruble rate. Chairman of the Government, Alexander Martynov, who also took part in the meeting, assured the first deputies that the executive uses all the necessary tools to prevent this. As the Prime Minister noted, tariffs for utilities will not increase until the end of 2017, and prices for fuel and lubricants are not expected. At the same time, the Government is preparing proposals to reduce customs duties on imported goods. This is another measure of support for entrepreneurs.
Another urgent issue, which was discussed by members of the advisory meeting, concerns the return of land plots that were taken from land users during the illegal redistribution of land by the former leadership of the republic. Today, land users turn to the court to return land, restore justice. Nevertheless, the founders of the republic believe that the situation is still tense.
Prosecutor of the Republic Anatoly Guretsky informed the first deputies about the legal proceedings that are taking place today on these issues. He is convinced: it is possible to return land only by means of court.
The founders of the republic agreed that the current land legislation requires improvement, including with regard to legal protection of land users. The Supreme Council must work on this.
