Not to forget and forgive

September 1941 was included in history as a black Dubassary district, tragic period. Specially designed punitive detachment of SS men started the Jews clearing operation. The ghetto where the Nazis rounded up the elderly, women and children, without sparing anyone was created in the town. Only 2 weeks of September there were executed according to various estimates about 18.5 thousand people. Innocent people were killed only because they were Jews.

In memory of victims of fascism in the place of execution of the Jews, a memorial, called "Pridnestrovian Babi Yar"  was erected. Today they lit six torches symbol of the 6 million who died in the Great Patriotic War of the Jews.

Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the need to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War and not to forget the innocent victims of fascism.

The first persons in the country, residents of Dubossary and guests honored the memory of victims minute of silence. The Supreme Council Speaker Vadim Krasnoselsky and deputies Peter Pasat and Gregory Dyachenko laid fresh flowers at the memorial.
