Meeting of the Public Chamber was held at the House of Official receptions under the chairmanship of Vitaly Glebov. Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla took part in its work. Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Tsurkan, State Advisor to the President Anna Volkova, Ministers of Agriculture and Education Efimiy Koval and Tatiana Loginova, Rector of PGU Stepan Beril and members of the Public Chamber who came to the capital from different cities of the republic gathered for a frank conversation at the round table. They talked about development of science in the republic.
According to information provided by the Minister of Education, Tatyana Loginova, 45 research laboratories are operating in Pridnestrovie with a scientific staff of 300 people. Last year there were 48 of them. 33 scientific topics move from year to year, five of them should be completed this year. At the same time, as many new ones have been proposed.
One of the most debated issues of the last meeting of the Public Chamber was the reporting and its frequency. There was a recommendation to the managers of the laboratories to report quarterly.
The rector of the main university of the republic Stepan Beryl believes that the constant control over scientific activity is superfluous.
The Head of the parliamentary committee Mikhail Burla gave an eloquent figure: 22 million rubles were allocated for the development of science in the budget 2019. This is about 0.3% of its consumable part. World practice shows: in order for science not to stagnate, but to develop, it is necessary to spend at least 3% of GDP.
As was reported during the meeting, in the fall of the current year, by the next anniversary of PSU, it is planned to organize a scientific forum with the presentation of research conducted by research laboratories. The main goal is the search for customers and the introduction of scientific research.
