Violation of the laws on advertising

Advertising of traditional medicine and the practice of alternative medicine will be subject to administrative liability. The Supreme Council is working on amendments to the law "On Advertising" and the Code of Administrative Offenses. The legislations were initiated by the legislators Galina Antyufeeva and Sergei Cheban. Deputies adopted it in the first reading. The essence of the proposed changes is that in order to place advertisements about medicines, methods of prevention and treatment, alternative medicine, you need the appropriate permission from the Ministry of Health. The author of the advertisement can be fined from 35 to 150 minimum wages (644 - 2760 rubles) in case of its absence.

In addition, the law "On Advertising" proposes to prescribe a ban on the advertising of evaporative mixtures and devices that imitate tobacco smoking. the Supreme Council adopted norms prohibiting their sale to minors earlier, in 2020. It will be impossible along with alcohol and tobacco products to advertise electronic cigarettes and vapes. Otherwise, according to the law, the responsibility will be borne by those who submit advertising, create and distribute it.

The Committee on Legislation, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens will continue to work on legislations to prepare for consideration in the second reading.
