The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation is hosting a round table on "Establishing economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie". Representatives of the Russian public, deputies of the State Duma, as well as deputies of the Supreme Council, members of the Government and public organizations of our republic are among the participants. The plans of the joint meeting are to discuss measures to support Russian compatriots living in Pridnestrovie.
The guests were welcomed by Elena Sutormina, Chairperson of the Commission of the Russian Federation for the Development of Public Diplomacy, Humanitarian Cooperation and Preservation of Traditional Values. She noted: Russia does not leave Pridnestrovie without attention. Questions concerning compatriots are widely discussed at various venues.
There was preliminary documentary film about Pridnestrovie before the discussion. Then permission to speak was granted to the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR, Alexander Shcherba. Presenting the republic, the speaker drew attention to the features of the historical past, told about the industrial potential of Pridnestrovie, informed Russian publics about the current situation, problems and challenges faced by the Pridnestrovians.
Deputy of the State Duma Alexei Silanov, representing in the Russian parliament, including the interests of the Pridnestrovian voters, drew attention to the need for a systematic approach to the implementation of social and humanitarian projects.
Natalia Narochnitskaya, representative of the Public Chamber of Russia, who visited our republic more than once, spoke with special warmth about the residents of our republic. Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva, Prime Minister Alexander Martynov, representative of the advisory meeting of the Chairman of the Supreme Council Vladimir Rilyakov supplemented information on Pridnestrovie and answered questions from representatives of Russian public figures.
