Two plenary meetings completed the VIII session of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie of the fifth convocation. They are scheduled for 23 and 24 December. This decision was taken today in the course of the meeting of the Presidium of the legislature of the republic. The agenda of the last meeting of this year includes the third reading of the draft national budget for 2015 and the planning period of 2016 and 2017. Let’s remember, taking into account the numerous comments and suggestions, the document passed the procedure of the first and second reading in the parliament. The main parameters are defined. The budget deficit is approximately 40%. It was decided to reduce funding for all public authorities by 7% in difficult socio-economic conditions.
In case of adoption of the law-in-draft the main financial document the deputies will send the document for signature to the President.
The agenda of tomorrow's plenary session of the Supreme Council includes more than forty different issues. Lawmakers will consider the draft constitutional law amending the Law on the Prosecutor's Office and the government, as well as presented “On amendments and addendum to the Electoral Code of PMR” in the regime of legislative necessity. The purpose of making this legislative initiative is to review the legal basis for establishing territorial election commissions. A number of amendments to the tax laws, the Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic of Administrative Offences will be the subject of discussion.
The draft of the new law “On special economic zone “Bendery fortress”” will be placed for consideration in the first reading. Oleg Vasilaty the author of initiative proposes to establish a special legal regime for the taxation of economic activities in the sphere of tourism and recreation, as well as use the free customs zone for the residents of the special economic zone. The legislator has proposed to extend the special economic zone regime for 25 years.
In the course of the meeting of the Presidium of the Supreme Council it was decided to hold a final press conference. It will take place on December 23 at 16:00. Speaker of Parliament and head of the parliamentary committees will summarize the legislative activity of Parliament for 2014 and answer questions from the mass-media.
