Deputies of “The Obnovlenie” faction met with Prime Minister Alexander Martynov on the eve of the annual government report

The Government report is replete with numbers, regarding all spheres of life of the state. Deputies have already sent a number of questions on the report and are counting on a business conversation, which will also include their joint work with the government to overcome the consequences of the crisis caused by the pandemic. Some important topics were discussed yesterday in the course of the meeting of the faction.

Parliamentarian Oleg Bayev inquired about the fate of infrastructure projects that were carried out under the capital investment program and were suspended due to the transfer of funds to protect citizens and businesses in the context of the spread of coronavirus.

The Head of Government Alexander Martynov considers that the construction of the projects started should be continued. It was decided to consider the issue of water supply in the working order.

Deputies touched on the situation in healthcare. The chairman of the relevant parliamentary committee, Sergey Cheban, recalled that in 2019, an industry development strategy was presented, an analysis of the effectiveness of medical institutions was conducted, suggestions were made for their optimization. The prime minister noted: the established concept will be taken as a basis, but adjusted for the possible second impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

It concerns optimizing the structure of public administration. According to Alexander Martynov, over two thousand years, about a thousand staff units were reduced in the republic.

The parliamentarians were interested in the prospects of restoring the land reclamation system in agriculture. Alexander Martynov recalled that last year they examined all pumping stations in the republic and identified the five most popular: in the villages of Tashlyk, Speya, Bychok, Sukleya and Chobruchi.

Chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance Oleg Vasilaty raised the issue of the importance of implementing laws “without social upheaval and error”. He recalled how slowly and difficultly the law on taxation of small businesses was introduced last year, while “businessmen and the tax service filled the bumps”.

It was noted during the meeting of the faction, that the format of the annual report of the Government presented in parliament justifies itself, as it allows us to once again analyze the work of executive authorities, discuss problems and ways to solve them.

Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov emphasized that the executive and legislative branches of Government are committed to constructive work.
