The Day of Cultural Workers in Pridnestrovie is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of May. Those who distinguished themselves in this sphere were honored at the Palace of the Republic on the eve of the holiday. State awards were presented by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva. The vice-speaker called the professional holiday a day of recognition of the work of cultural figures, which they do professionally and at a high level.
Words of gratitude on the eve of the holiday were addressed to all those who dedicated their lives to serving culture and art, preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Pridnestrovie. Head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage Maria Kyrmyz noted that more than 2 thousand talented and dedicated specialists work in 305 cultural institutions of the republic. They are the guardians of the spiritual, moral and historical traditions of the multinational people of Pridnestrovie, emphasized Maria Kyrmyz.
Employees of theaters, museums, libraries, cultural centers, specialists in the field of education, culture and art implement cultural projects every day, organize festivals, concerts, exhibitions and competitions. Another creative year was remembered for the celebration of Martisor, music festivals, theater competitions, thematic exhibitions.
Many amateur groups confirmed the titles of "Exemplary", "People's", "Honored". Their leaders were awarded departmental awards.
Raisa Vasilievna Nistor has been leading the Moldovan folk song ensemble at the Rybnitsa Palace of Culture for almost 37 years. She organized the group because of her love for Moldovan music.
Natalia Kavtya came to the capital from Kamenka district. She has been leading the exemplary group of arts and crafts "Skilled Hands" for 10 years in the village of Oknitsa. Natalia Kavtya, like 31 other masters of folk arts and crafts, was presented with a certificate confirming this status in the Palace of the Republic.
