Employee recruitment will be simplified for entrepreneurs

25.10.2023

The Supreme Council considered a package of legislative initiatives prepared by the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance, Viktor Guzun in the first reading. The parliamentarian proposes to amend two laws at once that affect the work of entrepreneurs - the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “Special Tax Regime – Simplified Taxation System” and the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “Special Tax Regime - Patent Taxation System”.

We are talking about adjusting the norm that determines how many employees individual entrepreneurs can hire under a civil contract.

The parliamentarian proposes to clarify that an individual entrepreneur has the right to enter into a civil law agreement with a new employee within a month without changing the essence of the norm of the current legislation. Provided that the number of persons involved in work at a time does not exceed 5 people.

The changes will primarily affect small catering establishments and small retail outlets. Owners of coffee shops, cafes and shops regularly face the problem of staff shortages, the parliamentarian noted.

Deputies of the Supreme Council voted to approve the package of legislations in the first reading. Work on changes to Pridnestrovian legislation will continue.
