To empower rural councils with real powers

To empower local councils the right to allocate land or seize at the territory of the village. That is the purpose of the law-in-draft, developed by the deputy of the Supreme Council Anton Onufrienko. The initiative was caused by the repeated appeals of rural residents who are forced to leave for land registration in the city.

Currently, the right to manage the land on the ground is registered in the Land Code. However, since 2007, a presidential decree, which defines a procedure for dealing with land issues. According to the author, today the village councils have everything necessary to solve the land issues on the ground. Noting the necessity and importance of this law-in-draft, the responsible committee recommended the deputies to adopt it in the first reading.
