Chairman of the Supreme Council Mikhail Burla on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese sent a message of greeting to Archbishop Sawa, the clergy and employees of the diocese. The speaker expressed his gratitude for the prayers and work, applied for creating a favorable spiritual and social atmosphere in the country and praised the work of priests in the process of becoming a parish life and development of constructive interaction and cooperation with state bodies, public and religious associations.

The festive events, dedicated to the anniversary of the date as well as the 200th anniversary of the Bendery Transfiguration Cathedral were attended by deputies of the Supreme Council. Saturday morning liturgy began in the capital of the Christ Nativity Cathedral. The Diocese service was headed by the Metropolitan Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir on the occasion of the anniversary of Tiraspol-Dubossary. It is noteworthy that 15 years ago, Metropolitan Vladimir led the consecration the cathedral. A frequent guest in Pridnestrovie - is Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistansky Vincent, who in 1990 was the bishop of Bendery. The Liturgy was attended by representatives of the republic, the head of the ministries and departments, parliamentarians.

The Nativity procession began the procession toward the Palace of solemn ceremonies after the service, to mark the 20th anniversary of the Diocese of the Cathedral. St. Nicholas Cathedral towered in the last century at the place of today's Palace of Marriages. In 1930 it was destroyed. A memorial plate is placed on the wall of the modern building in memory of the cathedral.

A series of celebrations over the weekend was also devoted to the 200th anniversary of the Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Bendery. There was a liturgy; decoration anniversary was a solemn procession. The Orthodox art exhibitions and museum exhibits were opened in the city. in The solemn commemorative events were culminated with a festive concert in the Palace of Culture of Bendery.
