Tomorrow, to the sound of the national anthem, the deputies of the Supreme Council will close the sixth autumn session of the sixth convocation. The working agenda of the last plenary session this year will be very rich. This is due to the need to adopt a number of legislations for their entry into force from the new year.
The second reading procedure passed the law-in-draft “On Amendments to the Marriage and Family Code” in the profile committee. The main idea is to expand the list of reasons for debtors to file alimony with the court in order to release or reduce the size of the debt. To such valid reasons as the illness of the alimony payer, his family and friends, being in prison, deputies of the relevant committee on legislation added to the passage of urgent active duty.
According to her colleagues, who recommended the Supreme Council to adopt the law-in-draft in the second final reading, the legal regulation of this issue will allow debtors to take action to pay off their debts, rather than evade paying alimony. The final decision on this issue remains for the deputy corps.
The Year of Equal Opportunities announced by the President is ending. By the way, the initiative about this belongs to a number of deputies of the Supreme Council. At the same time as the head of the committee on social policy, health, labor, family and childhood issues Sergei Cheban noted during the presidium meeting of the parliament, “it’s impossible to do everything in a year”. It is for this purpose that the profile committee submitted for discussion to the colleagues a draft of the state program “Equal Opportunities” prepared by the government for the period from 2019 to 2022. The document was discussed in the responsible committee and received support. It aims to support the social activity of people with disabilities and people with limited mobility. It is planned to create conditions for the free movement of persons with disabilities, as well as their employment.
