For the good of the Orthodox Culture

On the Eve of the Epiphany the Chairman of the Supreme Council Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva. Bishop congratulated the speaker on his appointment and donated the first Epiphany water and an icon of the Mother of God as a sign of the blessing of the legislative work of the new parliament.

Speaker of the Parliament Vadim Krasnoselsky told the head of Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese of the beginning of the legislature. Plans in the development of Orthodox culture, the preservation of Christian values, education of youth were discussed in the course of the meeting. These topical issues are at the responsibility of the Committee on Public Associations, Sports, Information and Youth Policy, chaired by Igor Buga.

During the meeting, they talked about the reconstruction of Pridnestrovian and the construction of new churches. A number of Orthodox churches have been increased in the republic for two decades thanks to the work of Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese. Recent years, Holy Trinity Church of the village Rashkovo Kamensky District, Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Bendery and the temple in the village Hruska were restored. Holy Cross Church is under construction in Tiraspol, in the district of Kirov, May 2014. From the moment when the first stone was laid, here served. Icons for the church were written in Moscow. Vladyka expressed the hope that its construction will continue in the current year. According to the Archbishop, Pridnestrovian temples should be maintained in proper condition.

On the eve of Epiphany Bishop Savva wished each Pridnestrovians who "can gain life-giving water from a light source, the Epiphany water is served for the benefit of spiritual condition".
