The Youth Parliament of the IV convocation: first meeting and new structure

The Youth Parliament of the IV convocation under the Supreme Council of the PMR officially began its work. Young parliamentarians gathered in the plenary session hall and opened the first session today. The PMR Anthem, recognition of powers, elections of the Youth Parliament leadership and parting words from senior comrades.

The first organizational session of the Youth Parliament of the IV convocation was opened by the Head of the commission for the formation of this advisory body under the Supreme Council Oleg Vasilaty. He spoke about the order of formation of the Youth Parliament. Let me remind you that 41 people entered the Youth Parliament of the new convocation:

- 7 university students (6 - PSU and 1 - Tiraspol Interregional University);

- 13 representatives of cities and districts (Tiraspol - 5, Bendery - 1, Slobodzeya district - 2, Grigoriopol district - 1, Dubossary district - 1, Rybnitsa district - 2, Kamenka district - 1 person);

- 21 representatives from the Obnovlenie (Renewal) Party and the Zvezda (Star), Victory Volunteers, Young Republic, Pridnestrovian People's Forum, People's Action and Youth Project movements.

Roman Efodiev was nominated for the post of Chairman of the Youth Parliament of the IV convocation. He is 20, a student of the Faculty of Economics at PSU named after T. Shevchenko from Dubossary, an activist, interacted with the III convocation of the Youth Parliament of Pridnestrovie. Roman Efodiev's candidacy for the post of chairman of the IV convocation of the Youth Parliament was unanimously supported.

The chairman of the Youth Parliament of the III convocation, Alexander Savich, handed over to Roman Efodiev the powers and a folder with legislative initiatives, which are still in the development stage.

Three deputies nominated themselves for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Youth Parliament. Anastasia Sokolan and Dmitry Prokhorenko (study at PSU with a degree in State and Municipal Administration) and Danila Lupolov from Grigoriopol region (student of the Institute of Physical Education). They had to answer the questions of colleagues parliamentarians. As a result, Dmitry Prokhorenko was elected by a majority of votes as Deputy Chairman of the Youth Parliament of the IV convocation. He has experience of youth parliamentarism - in the III convocation he worked in the committee for interaction with public associations and the media.

The Youth Election Commissions assisted in the reception and processing of documents of candidates for the Youth Parliament. 4 members of the Youth Election Commissions became deputies of the IV convocation of the Youth Parliament.

The Youth Parliament approved the structure under the leadership of the new chairman at the first meeting. 3 commissions and 7 committees will work in the IV convocation as well as a secretary and a special representative for inter-parliamentary relations. The deputies will determine the composition of the committees and commissions and elect their leaders at the next meetings.
