The Youth Diplomacy in Action

Members of Pridnestrovian delegation within a week took part in the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. There were also parliamentarians - Victor Guzun, Vadim Doni, Galina Antyufeeva in its composition. Upon returning to their homeland, Deputy Viktor Guzun, members of the Youth Parliament held a press conference in the Supreme Council. They shared their impressions of participating in this largest international forum. Representatives of 188 states of the world, 32 thousand people gathered in Sochi. Although our delegation was one of the smallest, its activity was so high that the entire world learned about Pridnestrovie. Its members gave peers from different corners of the world badges, our composite coins were especially popular among young people.

Our children, in particular, took first place in various sports, took part in lectures with the participation of prominent Russian politicians and government officials - Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin. The parliamentarian Victor Guzun asked the latter, within the framework of the panel discussion about the possibility of increasing the export supplies of Pridnestrovian goods to Russia.

Pridnestrovians used the slightest opportunity to tell about our republic as much as possible on all the platforms of the international youth forum. This includes television interviews, including leading federal channels, presentations, competitions, lectures by political scientists and experts, and live direct communication with peers. Most importantly, Pridnestrovians found a lively response from representatives of various states, which the southern city of Sochi gathered. In particular, a preliminary agreement has been reached with Igor Gribanov, who oversees the nationwide project "Territory of Development", which is aimed at the development of the education sector. So it is possible that in the future one of the young Pridnestrovians will get into a modern high-tech complex, which is located in Anapa.

The Pridnestrovian youth made new contacts and developed existing cooperation in Sochi. They agreed to exchange projects, visit each other, and take part in various youth events. In particular, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the PMR, Russian-Pridnestrovian youth forum is planned in November.

Special words of gratitude were received by volunteers working at the festival. Members of the Youth Parliament suppose their experience must also be used in Pridnestrovie.

Chairmen of the parliamentary committees Alexander Korshunov, Igor Buga, Sergei Cheban, head of “The Obnovlenie” parliamentary faction Petr Pasat who participated in the press conference thanked members of the Youth Parliament for the fact that they represented the Republic in Sochi with dignity, wished them more initiative, which is peculiar to young people.

It was clear that representatives of a new generation of Pridnestrovians after the visit to Sochi were filled with emotions.
