Almost a quarter of young people consider themselves active participants in the socio-political life of the republic according to the results of a sociological survey. At the same time, approximately 30% of respondents note that young people are not able to influence the course of events in the socio-political life of our country. Only 8% are sure that young people are able to have such an impact in the course of implementing the state youth policy. Such data was obtained by the "Sociology" research laboratory, which operates on the basis of the Department of Sociology and Social Technologies of Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko. This was stated by the Deputy Director of the Institute of Public Administration, Law and Social Sciences and Humanities, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor Natalya Groshovkina in the course of round table on the topic "Participation of Pridnestrovian youth in state policy: problems and prospects".

The round table was organized on the basis of the Department of Public Administration of Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko. The Head of the department Tatyana Zalevskaya shared her opinion on the role of youth in determining the policy of the state.

Deputies of the Youth Parliament under the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian State University, representatives of the Youth Electoral Commission, public organizations took part in the round table.

Deputy Chairman of the Youth Parliament Dmitry Prokhorenko delivered a report on the topic “Youth Parliament as a form of youth participation in the management of state affairs”. The young parliamentarian spoke about the goals and objectives of the Youth Parliament as well as about its structure and formation procedure. Dmitry Prokhorenko noted that the activities of the Youth Parliament require legislative improvement today.

Deputy of the Young Parliament, Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Protection of Youth Rights Andrey Chorba told the round table participants about the legislative activities of the Youth Parliament of the IV convocation.

The young parliamentarian said that the Youth Parliament of the IV convocation had three legislative initiatives. The first one has already been signed by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and entered into force as a law. The second initiative at the plenary meeting held on March 1 was supported by the deputies of the Supreme Council in the second final reading and sent for signature to the President. The third legislative initiative is now at the stage of preliminary consideration.

The participants of the round table discussed the effectiveness of the activities of youth "understudies" of the authorities, as well as the role of youth public organizations in uniting young people. Topical problems, that the young generation of Pridnestrovians that were also raised in the course of the discussions. Opinions were expressed that some of the problems could be solved by amending the laws. According to the deputies of the Youth Parliament, many of the ideas expressed at the round table may soon form the basis of new legislative initiatives of the Youth Parliament.
