Modernization of catering units in kindergartens of the country

Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Korshunov took part in the traditional video conference of the President with the heads of public authorities and administration. One of the discussed today was issues the state of food units and the quality of food preparation in preschool educational institutions.

The President gave earlier instructions to conduct commission visits and check the state of affairs. The Epidemiological station commission visited 177 kindergartens with inspections. Violations were revealed, including serious ones, and the participants of the meeting were informed. Not all kindergartens have health workers, and sometimes a full-time medical officer does not fulfill duties of supervising the quality of food preparation. Another remark of the sanitary and epidemiological station is that boilers are often used instead of centralized hot water supply in preschool institutions. Most often they are installed in groups, and the kitchens are left without hot water. Many kindergartens require repairs, replacement of kitchen equipment, furniture and utensils.

The heads of state administrations spoke about how the catering units of educational institutions are being renovated. For example, school kitchens are mostly well equipped in Tiraspol. Kindergarteners need attention. This year, they expect to put in order and re-equip the food units of five kindergartens: No. 9, No. 18, No. 25, No. 43, No. 48. Many of the premises require renovation in Bendery, 65% of catering units have been re-equipped. There are questions about the quality of water in Slobodzeya district in addition to the need to modernize food facilities. The issue of organizing chemical treatment of water that enters the water supply system from wells is being discussed, the website of the PMR President writes.

They discussed in the course of the meeting the sources of financing for the work to bring food units into proper condition. The purchase of kitchen equipment for kindergartens will be carried out jointly within the framework of the Capital Investment Fund, at the expense of municipal budgets. Deputies are also involved in the purchase of equipment and furniture for kitchen facilities at the expense of funds from the Fund for the Execution of Orders of Voters, according to the list of orders of voters. It is planned this year to purchase new furniture and equipment for two kindergartens in Dnestrovsk at the expense of the Fund for the Execution of Orders of Voters of the Deputy for the District of Viktor Guzun. The parliamentarian together with local authorities is determining which kindergartens need help in the first place.
