Opinion of parliamentarians

Meeting of the management of the republic of the legislature with a large delegation, which included mediators, guarantors and monitors the progress of the negotiation process between Moldova and Pridnestrovie for the first time was held at the parliamentary site. Chairman of the Supreme Council Vadim Krasnoselsky, his deputy, the head of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and international relationship Galina Antyufeeva, head of a consultative assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies, the first President of PMR Igor Smirnov and the speaker of advisers received diplomats from various countries and international organizations - Russia, Ukraine, the USA, the EU and the OSCE.

The foreign delegation was headed by Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman Cord Hinrich Meier-Klodt. It includes special envoy of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Gubarev, Special Representative of Ukraine for the settlement of Moldova-Pridnestrovie conflict, Ambassador at Large MFA Ukraine Valery Zhovtenko.

The meeting mostly was held behind closed doors. According to one of the participants, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs Valeri Litskai, representatives of the Supreme Council expressed remained intact throughout the history of the republic of Pridnestrovie position to the guests. It is based on the results of numerous referendums, aspiration of Pridnestrovians for independence. Participants in the negotiations from Pridnestrovian side presented to the leadership of the Republic of Moldova valid claims in respect of transport and economic blockade of the republic, the difficulties with the movement of inhabitants of PMR across borders, politically motivated criminal cases opened by the competent authorities of Moldova in relation to politicians, civil servants and entrepreneurs PMR.

Ex-Foreign Minister said that after about two months consultations resume in the format "5 + 2" in Berlin. At the same time, Valery Litskai added that the "window of opportunity" is now open for the settlement of the Moldova-Pridnestrovian issue, it is important how we use it.

Commenting on the results of the last journalists to meet Parliament Speaker Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that "in the course of the meeting with foreign diplomats, the deputies had the opportunity to express an opinion of the only legislature on various issues relating to the settlement of the Moldova-Pridnestrovian problem".
