Rally-requiem in memory of the defenders

Large-scale military actions of Moldova against Pridnestrovie began on March 2, 1992. The nationalist-minded authorities of Moldova made a third attempt to capture the city of Dubossary. 

Rally-requiem was held at the Dubossary Military Glory Memorial in memory of the defenders of the young republic. The memorial event was attended by the heads of the city and district, deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for the electoral district No. 11 "Central" Boris German, representatives of ministries, public organizations and enterprises, activists of the Obnovlenie party, schoolchildren. Those gathered honored the memory of those killed defending the city in 1992 and laid flowers at their graves.

The rally participants proceeded to house 64 in Oktyabrskaya Street, where the first chief of the Dubossary militia Igor Sipchenko was fatally wounded on March 1, 1992. Fresh flowers were laid at the granite slab in memory of Igor Sipchenko.

A flower-laying ceremony took place at the granite sign at the site of the death of Don Cossack Mikhail Zubkov.

Recalling the tragic events of 1992, Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Boris German noted that the people of Dubossary showed incredible fortitude and courage at that time.
