The meeting, dedicated to the memory of prominent Pridnestrovian political and public figure Nikolai Ostapenko, who died in 1992 from nationalists was held at the Memorial of Glory in Tiraspol. The date coincided with his birthday - December 15, 1953. A memorable meeting was held at his grave. Relatives, relatives, friends and colleagues, including the deputy gathered. Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva spoke about the invaluable contribution of Ostapenko to the formation of the statehood of Pridnestrovie.

Nikolai Ostapenko was born in Kitskany, where, after graduating from a higher educational institution, he taught history at a local school. He represented the interests of his villagers in the local council of people's deputies in the early 90s. Nikolay Ostapenko was elected to the Slobodzeya District Council, and then headed it.

The meeting participants shared their memories of their comrade, laid flowers at the grave of Nikolay Ostapenko. He will forever remain in the hearts of Pridnestrovians as an open, honest, attentive and fair person who opposed nationalism and selflessly defended the independence of Pridnestrovie.
