Meeting "Afghanistan's living memory"

Meeting "Afghanistan's living memory", dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan was held in Tiraspol at the Memorial of Glory. It was attended by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, deputies of the Supreme Council, heads of state authorities, Afghan soldiers, relatives and friends of the victims, soldiers of the OGRV, cadets, Suvorov, members of the youth army, Tiraspol residents and guests of the capital.

The President, referring to those present, emphasized when they talk about the feat of the Soviet soldier, it is mainly a military feat. But little is said about the fact that Soviet people built in Afghanistan thousands of hospitals, kindergartens, schools, tens of thousands of communal facilities, roads.

For 9 years, Soviet troops and specialists performed their duty in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. More than 15 thousand died. More than two thousand Pridnestrovian participated in the hostilities, 54 of which did not return home. The memory of the fallen internationalist warriors was honored with a moment of silence.

Fresh flowers were laid at the monument to the Afghan warriors. Red carnations on marble slabs are the duty of courage, honor, courage and valor of Soviet soldiers.
