The Peaceful Competition

By tradition, military-sports festival was held at the national stadium in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day. Chief of the Armed Forces, President Yevgeny Shevchuk and Prime Minister Pavel Prokudin, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba, parliamentarians, heads of law enforcement agencies, residents and guests of the capital observed the course of events of the security forces.

Fighters of Special Forces of the ministries of Interior and Defense, the KGB and the military operational group of Russian troops in Pridnestrovie demonstrated training and coordination of actions. Fighters showed techniques possession of firearms and bladed weapons, skills, unarmed combat. Soldiers also participated in paramilitary relay race competitions on a throwing grenades and tug of war.

The Vice-Speaker Alexander Shcherba praised skills and abilities of soldiers, defenders of the Republic.

Alexander Shcherba congratulated defenders of the republic on their professional holiday and wished "good luck, health, self-fulfillment, wealth" to them and their families.
