The former chairman of the Supreme Council, now the head of the parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture, Mikhail Burla – is a constant participant of scientific conferences held at the site of the main university of the republic. Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko - the organizer of important public and political debate on current issues. The talk about ethnosocial comfort of Pridnestrovians was launched in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The history of its creation begins in 1990, when the Faculty of Law and history appeared at Tiraspol State-corporate University. Time changed its name, activities remained unchanged, among which a place of honor ethnic policies. According to the professor of the Department of General History, Archeology and Ethnology Vyacheslav Stepanov, a conference on this subject intended to identify not only the problems of nation-building, the formation of civic values, but also to show the unique experience of peaceful inter-ethnic relations in our republic. Pridnestrovie - is a multinational state. Besides the ethnic majority - Russian, Moldovan and Ukrainian – Pridnestrovie is also home for Bulgarians, Gagauz, Belarusians, Jews, Armenians and representatives of other nationalities. How, could Pridnestrovian people live in peace, national, linguistic and cultural diversity? - This question is often asked abroad.
Teachers of PSU - are active authors of numerous scientific monographs. During the conference, the presentation of one of them - "Ethnopolitical civic identity construction on the two banks of the Dniester. 1989-2014". Vyacheslav Stepanov the author said that the book describes the process of etnocitizenship building in Pridnestrovie and Moldova - two areas that, despite the existence of a common border, can not find common ground. Professor of the Department of General History, Archeology and Ethnology also emphasized the complexity of the description of historical facts at the present stage. They often are not documented and deeply understood.
Much attention in the course of the conference was paid to the formation of PMR as a multi-ethnic region, "custodian" of the cultural heritage.
Mikhail Burla was interested in the topic of ethnosocial comfort of Pridnestrovians in connection with the legislative, research and teaching activity.
Honorary President of PSU Stepan Beril read welcome address on behalf of the Deputy Director of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies (RISS) Tamara Guzenkova. The document noted the close cooperation of Pridnestrovian and Russian scientists during the outgoing year through scientific forums, conferences, round-table meetings, seminars, lectures. They also talked about the prospects of working together next year in order to strengthen the Russian-Pridnestrovian relations.
