Most of the plenary meetings of the second day of the economic forum was devoted to the development of the tourism industry in our republic. Representatives of Government agencies responsible for this area, heads of travel agencies, experts and representatives of the scientific community spoke at the forum. Among the participants in the discussion there were many guests from far and near abroad. At one of the forum sites, the interaction of private and public sectors, as well as the scientific environment in the development of tourism was discussed.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Natalia Sitkina informed the forum participants that today the state pays a lot of attention to this sector of the economy. Throughout the past year and half of this, work has been ongoing to create a tourism development program. In July, the program for the next 8 years was adopted by the Supreme Council.
The famous traveler and photo artist Sergey Milyukhin talked about the fact that in Belarus they once followed a path that led to a dead end, since the state initially commissioned private companies to attract tourists to the country.
There are beautiful karst caves in Pridnestrovie. For example, in Pennsylvania, the annual income from visiting such caves is about $ 4 million per year. In France, these caves bring in $ 2.5 million a year.
At the same time, forum guests noted a lack of objective and positive information on Pridnestrovie in the global network. This direction should be given the most attention. Speakers drew attention to the fact that the authorities should constantly work to clarify certain events related to the development of tourism, so that society understands why this is done, so that Pridnestrovians always welcome guests of the republic with a smile. It is very important to involve citizens through open sessions, public hearings, questionnaires.
