The meeting of the expanded Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was dedicated to the Day of the employee of the diplomatic service of the republic. The meeting was attended by President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, his deputy Galina Antyufeyeva, parliamentarian Oleg Belyakov, deputy head of the Government Stanislav Kasap, representatives of state authorities and management.

The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev called 2019 a year traditionally difficult and eventful for the Pridnestrovian foreign policy.

Last year, nearly 40 international meetings took place, including with representatives of the Russian Federation, the USA, the European Union, the OSCE, Ukraine, and Moldova. Speaking about the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations, Vitaly Ignatiev noted that a number of agreements were reached in 2017 and 2018. These decisions were perceived by international participants as an important step forward and a breakthrough in the process of regulating Moldova-Pridnestrovian relations. Last year showed a degradation of dynamics in the negotiation process. 3 meetings were held in the 1 + 1 format and 20 meetings of expert (working) groups in 2019. 25 meetings and 86 meetings of working groups were held in 2018.

The position of Pridnestrovie and Russia regarding the negotiation process coincides on all fundamental issues, the Foreign Minister stated. This is the implementation of social and humanitarian projects in Pridnestrovie, the simplification of the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for residents of Pridnestrovie, the receipt and use of maternity capital, the medical insurance policy of Russia in Pridnestrovie. Steady increase of trade with Russia was noted in the course of the meeting.

A positive moment in the framework of cooperation with the Russian Federation in the humanitarian sphere was the opening in June last year on the basis of the Pridnestrovian State University of a contact center for cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo. The work of this center enables Pridnestrovian to participate in Russian humanitarian projects.

Opening of the Official Representation of Pridnestrovie in Moscow was mentioned as one of the results of 2019.

Speaking about the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement, the President noted the lack of solutions in the field of telecommunications, in the banking sector, etc.

Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the Foreign Ministry and Russian diplomats on their professional holiday.

The address of the leadership and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was sent by Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov on the Day of the diplomatic worker.
