State support measures will continue next year

21.12.2022

The law on state support measures for the period of coronavirus quarantine will cease to operate from January 1, 2023, but government support measures will remain. Some of those that the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic considered relevant were revised and transferred as amendments and additions to another law – "On measures of state support for economic entities of the PMR in connection with the negative consequences of external factors". This will make it possible to maintain effective support measures for the economic entities of Pridnestrovie, designed to minimize the negative consequences for the socio-economic sphere of the republic.

As the chairman of the relevant parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance Viktor Guzun noted, a lot of joint analytical work has been done. Those state support measures that both the population and economic agents need have been postponed and extended for another year, until December 31, 2023.

The work of the largest industrial energy-intensive industries and other representatives of the industrial sector of the economy was suspended with regard to providing support to the industrial sector of the economy, due to the introduction of a state of emergency in the territory of the republic at the end of October against the backdrop of severe restrictions on natural gas supplies. It is proposed therefore to grant the right to change the maturity of the loan body for a period of not more than 6 months for preferential loans for investment purposes. This will reduce the pressure on the financial condition of industrial enterprises, including reallocating the released financial resources to support current economic activities. The issue of extending the loan will be declarative in nature.

State support measures for the population will also remain in 2023. Thus, the possibility remains for preferential categories of preschoolers, schoolchildren and students to receive food packages or monetary compensation for the period of distance learning in the legislative field of Pridnestrovie.

All state support measures reflected in the law on support measures due to negative external factors will be extended until the end of 2023. However, the deputies do not exclude the possibility of adjusting the legislation in this area if the situation inside the country changes under the influence of external economic factors.
