01.08.2017

Festive events dedicated to the Day of Memory was opened in the capital. This day, there was "Immortal Regiment", a rally and a ceremony of laying flowers at the Glory Memorial. The events were attended by Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeeva and deputies of the Supreme Council. Relatives and children of the victims of the armed conflict of 1992 passed with portraits in their hands in the main street of Tiraspol. Their feat of arms was honored at the Moscow memorial; they recalled the historical events of the summer of 1992. A quarter of a century ago, July 29, the first Russian peacekeepers landed on the Tiraspol airfield, and August 1 the military confrontation on the Dniester ended, and a truce began. Hundreds of people gave lives for the peaceful sky over their heads, freedom and the right to speak in their native language. During the period of hostilities, 804 Pridnestrovians did not returned home, 118 of them residents of the capital.

A moment of silence. They laid live flowers at the Eternal Flame, to the graves of the defenders of Pridnestrovie.

Within the framework of events dedicated to the Republic Day of Memory, divine liturgies for the dead will be held in the churches of the city.
