Pridnestrovie celebrated the 34th anniversary of its formation today. A decision was made at the II Extraordinary Congress of Deputies of All Levels to establish the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic on September 2, 1990. This day became the starting point in the history of modern Pridnestrovian statehood.
The Republic remembers and honors the memory of those who, in the most difficult times, defended the right of Pridnestrovians to live, relying on the traditions and culture that are true for our people. Fresh flowers were laid in the morning, at the capital's Memorial of Military Glory at the Eternal Flame, graves and slabs with the names of the fallen defenders of Pridnestrovie by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Rosenberg. The memory of the fallen was honored with a minute of silence.
Following the top officials of the state, fresh flowers were laid at the Eternal Flame and granite slabs by deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese, military personnel, and representatives of public organizations.
The national flags of the PMR and the Russian Federation traditionally reached the sky above the capital immediately after the solemn ceremony of laying flowers on Suvorov Square, to the sounds of the national anthem of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov congratulated Pridnestrovians on the main state holiday. The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke with journalists at the end of the official part of the events dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the formation of the PMR. The President noted that the main achievement of the Pridnestrovian state is the strengthening of the community of the "Pridnestrovian people".
The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that it was the need to protect people living on the banks of the Dniester that became the main reason for the creation of the PMR.
The PMR President on the Day of the Formation of the PMR wished the people of Pridnestrovie simple human things - peace, health, development, happiness and love, recognition to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The program of festive events continued in the Catherine Park. There were colorful courtyards, exhibitions, master classes and quizzes. There is an open day in the museums and art galleries of the capital. The performance of the silent drill team gave unforgettable emotions to the residents and guests of the city on Suvorov Square near the Tiraspol cinema and concert complex. The festival "United Family of the Peoples of Pridnestrovie" was held on the stage of the Catherine Park. Folk festivities, fairs, competitions and concerts were organized today in Bendery, Slobodzeya, Dnestrovsk, Grigoriopol, Dubossary, Rybnitsa and Kamenka.
