What worries Pridnestrovians and how the Russian Federation can help its citizens and compatriots. These questions were the main ones today at the online roundtable meeting between the Pridnestrovian and Russian parliamentarians. Mikhail Burla, Oleg Vasilaty, Alexander Korshunov, Igor Buga, Viktor Guzun, Oleg Petrik, Anton Onufrienko and Chairman of the PMR CEC Elena Gorodetskaya took part in the round table from the PMR Supreme Council. Viktor Vodolatsky, Umakhan Umakhanov, Artem Turov, Sergey Chizhov, Pavel Shperov and Olga Gukalenko took part in the round table on the Russian side.
First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Viktor Vodolatskiy emphasized that Pridnestrovie is a territory where close people live.
Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council, acting speaker Mikhail Burla reminded Russian colleagues about the main aspects of inter-parliamentary cooperation and interaction on the protection and support of Pridnestrovians. The parliamentarian emphasized that the formed inter-parliamentary ties have become an important component in the process of strengthening and developing relations between Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation. He outlined the issues that need to be addressed. First of all, medical assistance is relevant today - tests for COVID-19, various drugs and, possibly, a vaccine against coronavirus. Mikhail Burla also spoke about the mechanism of simplified acceptance into Russian citizenship and about solving the issue of paying a one-time aid to Pridnestrovian veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who were to receive it this year by decree of the President of Russia. The Supreme Council expressed gratitude for solving the issue of receiving pensions by Russian citizens living in the PMR, and expressed hope that in 2021 a humanitarian project on additional payments to Pridnestrovian pensioners will continue.
Chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance Oleg Vasilaty presented to his Russian colleagues a note on the history of cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie in the economic sphere. And he focused on issues related to problems in the agrarian sphere.
The Russian deputies, representing the interests of the Pridnestrovian citizens of the Russian Federation in the State Duma, emphasized that the identified issues and problems will definitely be worked out. The adopted resolution will be supplemented and sent to Russian ministries and departments at various levels.
The participants of the round table from Pridnestrovie invited the State Duma deputies to be present as observers at the elections to the Supreme Council of the PMR on November 29, 2020.
