Pridnestrovian State University organized an international conference dedicated to reproductive practices in the focus of socio-humanitarian research within the framework of the Year of Family and Family Values.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov addressed the conference participants with wishes for successful work. The welcoming address of the Speaker was voiced by Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media Pavel Shinkaryuk.
Heads of relevant ministries made reports at the international conference. Thus, Minister of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Svetlana Ivanishina spoke about the role of family, school and environment in the formation of traditional family values in the younger generation. Svetlana Ivanishina informed the conference participants about the events held in the republic as part of the Year of Family and Family Values. The Minister of Healthcare Kristina Albul in her speech focused on the importance of maintaining reproductive health and the problems of low birth rates in the republic.
Director of the Institute of Public Administration and Social and Humanitarian Sciences, Professor Elena Bobkova said that at the initiative of the Ministry of Healthcare, the laboratory "Health Index of Pridnestrovians" was opened. Doctors, sociologists, psychologists and teachers took part in its work. As part of the work of this laboratory, a sociological study was conducted. More than 500 people of childbearing age took part in the survey. The specialists tried to find out how the Pridnestrovians themselves assess their health, as Elena Bobkova noted. Particular attention in the study was paid to reproductive health.
The importance of discussing the declared topics of family and health was commented on by the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media Pavel Shinkaruk. Deputy Pavel Shinkaryuk, father of four children, noted that he knows first-hand how important it is today to raise children as worthy members of society. The international conference within the framework of the Year of Family and Family Values will last two days. The program includes round tables, qualification seminars and sectional sessions.
