Masters of folk arts and crafts will receive certificates

03.04.2024

The Parliament adopted amendments to the law "On Folk Arts and Crafts" in the second final reading. They regulate legal, organizational and economic relations in the field of folk arts and crafts, as well as their revival, preservation and development, as an important component of the culture of multinational Pridnestrovie.

Masters of folk and artistic crafts will be able to receive a certificate confirming their status. The document will allow not to pay income tax for the sale of your souvenirs at trade fairs. The document will be issued by the State Service for Culture.

Not all masters will be able to receive a certificate, but only those who preserve the traditions of the peoples living in Pridnestrovie.

Amendments to the submitted law-in-draft were adopted at the plenary session as part of the consideration in the second reading. The deputies of the relevant Committee on Education, Science, Culture, public associations, sports, information and youth policy proposed to establish that in addition to tax benefits for the craftsmen themselves, the state will support legal entities that provide financial support to the masters of folk arts and crafts. Benefits are provided for the payment of taxes and fees in accordance with current legislation for such legal entities. The Committee considers that local authorities should have the right to provide support to masters of folk crafts.

The parliamentarians supported the proposals of the relevant Committee at the plenary session. The law-in-draft was adopted in the second final reading and sent for signature to the President.
