Benefits regardless of the type of pension

The deputies of the Supreme Council have adjusted the norms of the law "On social protection of veterans and persons of retirement age". Now persons of retirement age who have been registered on the territory of the republic for a long time (at least a year), regardless of the type of pension, will have the right to benefits. They can receive it for disability, in the event of the loss of a breadwinner, for seniority or as a social pension, while benefits for utility bills and travel benefits will be provided. Earlier, before the change in the norms of the law, citizens of the PMR temporarily residing in the republic who had reached retirement age had this right only if they received an old-age pension.

A group of deputies of the Committee on Social Policy proposed to clarify the categories of persons who are subject to the law "On social protection of veterans and persons of retirement age". The law-in-draft was developed on the basis of the appeal of the State Unitary Enterprise "Republican Settlement Information Center".

The adopted changes will simplify law enforcement practice. The law-in-draft has been sent for signature to the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
