The Benefits should not remain on paper

Deputies adopted in the first reading law-in-draft "On amendments and addendum to some laws of PMR", submitted by the President Vadim Krasnoselsky as a legislative initiative. The Supreme Council received the document in the regime of legislative emergency. It provides for social financial support to participants of the Great Patriotic War and other persons equated to them. This category includes citizens, involved in the fighting in the Great Patriotic War, invalids of Great Patriotic War, persons awarded with orders and medals for their selfless labor on the home front during the war, worked in besieged Leningrad, awarded "Citizen of the Besieged Leningrad", prisoners of concentration camps and ghettos and other persons prescribed in the law. There are more than 1,000 people at the moment. Submitting the law-in-draft, First Deputy Minister for Social Protection and Labor Oleg Fedotov said that all the above categories of citizens were offered 100 per cent discount to pay for housing and utility services within the social norms; exemption from obligatory insurance contributions, income tax on individuals, local taxes and fees from land tax, property tax of individuals. 100 per cent from payment for the patent and free social services were registered for this category of citizens.

In the course of yesterday's meeting the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba drew his colleagues' attention to the need for working out a detailed mechanism for the implementation of the draft law in practice.

In the course of today's meeting the law-in-draft was adopted in the first reading. The document will be finalized in the second reading taking into account voiced comments and suggestions.
