Legal working conditions for craftsmen

14.06.2023

Parliamentarians adopted in the second final reading two packages of legislations that regulate the work of craftsmen. The craftsmen will have two ways to legally sell their own products at the initiative of the Government and at the initiative of a group of parliamentarians.

The craftsmen at the initiative of the Government will be able to receive a special document and the status of a craftsman from the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage. They will be able to sell the works and products created by their own hands at exhibitions-fairs and festive events of a city or republican scale. Craftsmen will be able to leave work for sale to various shops that sell souvenirs. Craftsmen are exempt from paying income tax if there is a document from the State Service for Culture.

Parliamentarian noted however, that craftsmen will not be able to receive social privileges from the state in this case. For example, they will not be able to add their time and work to create various souvenir products to their work experience. Therefore, another package of legislations was introduced and today adopted in the second final reading at the initiative of the deputies of the Committee on Economic Policy.

Whatever way the craftsmen choose to work, now they will be in the legal field and work legally. The parliamentarians at the plenary session supported the legislative initiatives of both the Government and the deputies of the relevant Committee. The legislations have been sent to the President for signature. It will come into force after the signing.
