Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov commented on the important directions of the law "On the republican budget for 2021". The Parliament adopted the law-in-draft in the first reading.
Balanced budget
“Work on the law-in-draft "On the republican budget for 2021" was carried out by the deputies of the Supreme Council of the VI convocation. A lot of working meetings were held and a lot of information was heard from the heads of ministries, departments, agencies, and the State Management Company. On the basis of the agreed positions, effective work was done to redistribute financial resources in such a way that when the budget is adopted in the first reading, we can say that the 2021 budget is balanced according to socially protected items. This means that payments of wages, pensions and other social payments next year will be in full and on time", said Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council.
Raising salaries and pensions
“A reserve of 160 million rubles has been formed from the planned budget revenues for 2021 for the planned increase in retirement benefits and wages. The payment mechanism will be formed by a separate working commission: to what extent and in what areas. I hope we will work out a formula according to which the increase in pensions and wages will be financed”, emphasized the Speaker of the Pridnestrovian Parliament.
New target funds for the development of agriculture and the development of the reclamation complex
“The drought in 2019 and 2020 brought a clear understanding that the reclamation complex should be developed at a faster pace than before. The deputy corps of the VI convocation and the deputies of the VII convocation are focusing the attention of all government bodies on the fact that this is a rather serious and urgent topic, therefore, additional sources of funding are needed for the development of the reclamation complex. This is due to the fact that investment in this infrastructure makes it possible to develop the real sector of the economy and obtain a multiplier effect in terms of budget revenues. We all understand perfectly well that the losses suffered by farmers at the end of 2019 and throughout 2020 are significant both for farmers and for our budget. Therefore, we consider that despite all the difficulties, it is necessary to increase the volume of financing in this area. Together with the government, under the leadership of the President, it was decided to allocate two separate funds with a specific purpose. The amount of resources allocated to these areas has been increased by 2-3 times", - explained the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov.
