The law-in-draft on amendments to the norms of the Housing Code passed the second final reading. It was initiated by a group of deputies of the Supreme Council. We are talking about reducing the number of votes of residents of apartment buildings, necessary for the adoption of any decision at the general meeting. It was necessary previously to gain 2/3 of the votes of the total number of owners (67%). 50% and 1 vote are needed after the amendments now.
Voting may concern the choice of a method for managing an apartment building, resolving the issue of its reconstruction, or electing a senior in the house. Amendments to the Housing Code apply to multi-apartment buildings of any type of management: homeowners' association, cooperatives, or serviced housing management companies.
