Adjustment of budget indicators regarding the work of the Research Institute of Agriculture

The legislative initiative of the Government, which involves making adjustments to the revenue and expenditure parts of the budget, was considered in the course of the plenary meeting. Amendments to the law “On the Republican Budget for 2024” are related to the transfer of funds to finance and fulfill the state order for scientific research in the field of agriculture.

The Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Oleg Diligul said that the Pridnestrovian Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture was reorganized from a state institution into a state unitary enterprise from April 1.

Changing the status of the Research Institute of Agriculture will allow the institute to gradually expand its scope of activity, including through the provision of services under contracts with other agricultural enterprises, as noted in the course of the plenary meeting.

Budget funding for the Pridnestrovian Agricultural Research Institute is planned to be reduced in course of time, so that most of the institute's expenses are covered by the paid services it provides. We are talking about the cultivation and sale of vegetable seeds, laboratory services for soil analysis, and the cultivation of high-yielding planting material.

The law-in-draft on amendments and additions to the law “On the Republican Budget for 2024” was considered and adopted in two readings at once in the course of the plenary session.
