The concert with the participation of students of the Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts and blind and visually impaired artists took place in the assembly hall of the Republican Rehabilitation Center for the people with special needs. The event within the framework of the month of the white cane and for the International Day of the Blind was organized by the Deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 8 Ilona Tyuryaeva. The parliamentarian has been representing the interests of residents of constituency No. 28 of Tiraspol for many years, where the visually impaired and the completely blind live.
The concert participants performed works by blind poets and singers. For example, they read a poem by Eduard Asadov. The Russian poet and prose writer, having lost his sight in his youth, found the strength to live and create for people. Concert participant Matryona Boishtyan read his poems about life, friendship and love at every literary evening held at the rehabilitation center.
The center's artists in preparation for this concert met future professional musicians and vocalists. Students from the Institute of Arts played the piano and clarinet, sang songs and danced a waltz. Blind artists were not inferior to them in skill. They were helped up and down from the stage. Blind people can read and write, play musical instruments using notes using Braille. At the concert they talked about the creator of the raised dot font and the work of world stars. There were stories of people who began a new life after losing their sight. International Day of the Blind is a reminder to society that there are people with special needs living nearby who need the help of others.
All those invited to the concert saw the efforts of the blind and visually impaired artists to perform the number beautifully. After each performance there was loud applause in their support.
Present in the hall were members of the Society of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Tiraspol and Bendery, para-athletes, employees of the Rassvet enterprise, representatives of the Government, the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, the civil service for sports, the capital's state administration, and deputies of the Tiraspol City Council. Ilona Tyuryaeva expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts and everyone involved for their help in organizing the concert.
Members of the blind society, employees of the Rassvet enteprise and para-athletes after all the performances were presented with state awards: letters of gratitude from the President, diplomas of the Supreme Council and departmental awards of the Ministry of Social Protection and the State Service for Sports. The Head of the rehabilitation center for people with special needs Georgiy Cheban was awarded the badge “For Services to Society” and he was awarded the “Excellence in Physical Culture and Sports”. His dream came true 3 years ago – a new complex of a rehabilitation center for the disabled was opened on behalf of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky and with the support of deputy Ilona Tyuryaeva.
The concert of amateur artists and students completed a series of events that took place over the course of a month on White Cane Day and the International Day of the Blind. Thematic events were held to remind about vision problems, as well as interesting trips and competitions to diversify leisure time for blind people and pay special attention to them in October and November on the initiative of parliamentarian Ilona Tyuryaeva.
