Art Institute celebrates Anniversary

A concert dedicated to the sixtieth anniversary of Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts took place in the Palace of the Republic. Not only university students, but also teachers, as well as well-known musical groups: the institute's chamber and brass bands, “Harmonique”, “Zelensky big band” performed on the same stage.

The gala concert began with the composition of Johann Sebastian Bach performed by the chamber orchestra and two violinists-soloists. This evening the works of other world composers sounded from the stage: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Peter Tchaikovsky, Dmitry Shostakovich. In addition to classical music, the program included Soviet classics, jazz pieces, modern music, such as the Ozzy Osbourne song “Crazy train” performed by the “Zelensky big band”.

Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts is the only institution of higher education in the republic that provides higher musical education. The institute produces talented musicians who are gaining notoriety not only at home, but also in foreign countries.
