The local level control

The law "On local government and public administration in Pridnestrovie" refers to laws - "centenarians". It was adopted in 1994. The document for more than two decades has undergone a lot of changes. One of them was approved by deputies at today's plenary session.

A notable aspect of legislative activity of the 6th convocation of the Supreme Council was the activity of the subjects of legislative initiative, which include urban and regional councils of people's deputies. The capital city council - is at the first range. The essence imposed on Tiraspol deputies colleagues judgment of the Supreme Council of the proposal as follows: various types of both temporary and permanent commissions established by public administrations of cities and districts should be included at least one local Deputy with the right to vote.

Colleagues was supported by the chairmen of other town and district councils. They noted that the representative body of local government elected officials to protect the rights and interests of voters, at least, should be aware of the decisions taken by the members of the commissions established by public administrations. In addition, it can not be discounted and the undeniable fact that local representative bodies, as well as the Supreme Council have control functions within their administrative-territorial unit.

The government have different opinion regarding the legislative initiative. It was expressed by its official representative who saw it an encroachment on the powers of state administration relating to the executive branch. Despite this, the legislative initiative of the Tiraspol city council was supported, in general, and in the discussion of the two proposed amendments in the law-in-draft.
