The Conference of the Dubossary Union of Afghan Warriors

16.09.2019

The reporting and election conference of the Dubossary Union of War Veterans in Afghanistan was held in Dubossary on September 14. The Credentials Committee registered 33 out of 55 members. The quorum was held, so all decisions made at the conference were legitimate.

Deputy of the Supreme Council Petr Pasat, Heads of the State Administration of Dubossary and the Dubossary District Natalia Kravets, Chairman of the Union of the PMR Defenders of Dubossary Yuri Shakura, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of War and Labor of Dubossary Viktor Bagnibov.

Due to the fact that the current chairman of the Union, Alexander Dragoman and his deputy, did not attend the conference, the first issues on the agenda were not heard.

From the numerous speeches of the members of the Union it followed that the problems remain the same: there are those who need housing, since they have been on the queue for more than 20 years, there are many requests for additional treatment. There were suggestions that children of Afghan warriors under the age of 18 could be provided with food in schools for free.

In addition, other suggestions were made at the conference. For example, the possibility of retiring Afghan warriors at 58, as is done in Ukraine was considered. A remark was also made to the leadership of the republic that, unlike most CIS states, a jubilee medal for the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan was not made in Pridnestrovie.

The Union of War Veterans in Afghanistan still lacks its own premises, which would allow holding meetings of working bodies and inviting guests.

Deputy Natalia Kravets, Head of the State Administration of Dubossary and the Dubossary District, noted in her speech that Afghans need to participate more actively in the public life of the city. The Union of Afghans still lacks a work plan, which does not allow for the effective implementation of the tasks. At the same time, it was emphasized that Afghans actively participate in the patriotic education of youth, attend schools and other educational institutions.

Deputy of the Supreme Council Petr Pasat During the conference was asked questions, including about Moldova’s blocking the foreign currency accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises, work on the republican budget for next year, and financing of state and social programs.

Peter Pasat after the conference talked with individual members of the Union individually. He tried to give everyone comprehensive answers. Peter Pasat suggested someone write a letter to quickly solve existing problems.
