Computer courses for the elderly have opened in Bendery

03.07.2025

Pensioners study digital literacy in Bendery, at School No. 18 in the constituency No. 2 "Memorial" of Deputy Yuri Kucherenko. The elderly learn how to use search engines, instant messengers, work with Internet banking, protect themselves from fraudsters, and artificial intelligence. 3-4 more groups will be able to study this summer.

The Deputy and Chairman of the Board of ZAO "Agroprombank" during his communication with voters was repeatedly convinced that pensioners have a need to master the bank's client services and, to improve their computer literacy in general. He decided to give them this opportunity.

Two classes have already taken place. The district pensioners studied Google and Yandex search, and learned about the advantages of artificial intelligence using Chat GPT as an example. Ahead is the study of email, instant messengers, online banking, and one of the most pressing topics – how to recognize fraud from calls, letters, and websites. There are frequent cases when pensioners give their last money to “save” their loved ones who allegedly got into trouble today.

Sergey Dimitrov noted that this summer, 3-4 more groups of pensioners will be able to study at free courses to improve digital literacy at Bendery School No. 18. You can sign up by calling (778) 69090.

As parliamentarian Yuriy Kucherenko said, the computer science class at Bendery School No. 2, the “railway school,” will also be equipped with modern computers. Courses for the elderly will be opened there if they manage to find enthusiasts like Sergey Dimitrov.
