Summing up the results of the past year is the main topic of the online meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev made a report on the results of the activities of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry to the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, the leadership of the Supreme Council of the PMR and other departments. He drew attention to the fact that the pandemic had an impact on the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its staff had to face an increase in the number of citizens' requests for displacement. A special section was created on the agency's website to help them, the information was used by 6 thousand Pridnestrovians, the presidential press service writes.
The Foreign Minister focused on the course of the negotiation process. Three times in 2020, the representation of Moldova in the negotiation process was changed. There were: one summit meeting, two - political representatives of the parties, 26 meetings of expert (working) groups and for the first time in 10 years not a single meeting in the "5 + 2" format took place. Vitaly Ignatiev listed specific destructive steps of Moldova and recalled the measures taken by Pridnestrovie to solve the problems posed by the Moldovan side.
Vitaly Ignatiev drew attention to the fact that many international partners share the Pridnestrovian understanding of the current situation.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov in his comment to the parliamentary press service on the results of the Collegium emphasized that the past 2020 was, including for the foreign ministry of Pridnestrovie, a time of serious trials.
Alexander Korshunov recalled that this year the Supreme Council of the PMR twice reacted to the situation in Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations: in July, a resolution was adopted “On the statement of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in connection with the escalation of tensions by the Republic of Moldova in the Security Zone” and in December the resolution “On the statement of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the inadmissibility of aggravating the situation in the Security Zone”.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the course of the meeting of the Collegium informed about the various directions, forms and mechanisms of interaction between Pridnestrovie and Russia, Ukraine, the republics of the Caucasus, foreign countries and various international organizations. He focused on the topic of peacekeeping on the Dniester, noting the systematic nature of the work of the PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protect it in the existing format. Vitaly Ignatiev congratulated his colleagues on their professional holiday and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Russian diplomat Sergei Gubarev. The participants of the Collegium were greeted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the diplomatic officials on their professional holiday, noting the significance of their activities.
The President focused on the emerging situation in relations between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the difficulties of working in the face of the total resistance of the Moldovan side to the movement forward.
The President drew attention to the necessity to internationally promote the state idea of the PMR, which consists in strengthening the republic's independence and implementing the results of the 2006 referendum, forming a community “Pridnestrovian people” and building a socially oriented state with a market economy, the website of the PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes.
