The Republican contest “Living Word” annually unites young connoisseurs of poetry. “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal) party holds the contest for the seventh time. Qualifying stages are held in all cities of the republic. In total there are 3 age categories in the competition. In Tiraspol there were about 30 participants representing the youngest group from 7 to 10 years. The children performed with the works of classics and modern authors. They read poems about Motherland, spring, nature, family, love for their native city. Many chose humorous works, others tried to get used to the dramatic image.

Children at the competition read works in Russian, Moldovan or Ukrainian. Lesia Ukrainka's poem was chosen by Vasilisa Grabovan, a pupil of metropolitan school number 9.

Many guys chose works devoted to the upcoming holiday - the day of the liberation of Tiraspol from the Nazi invaders. According to the deputy of the Supreme Council Sergey Vasiliev, April 12 is the most significant date for the Pridnestrovian capital.

Every year, the Living Word contest opens up new talents. Many children presented their own compositions. The head of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance Oleg Vasilaty thanked the organizers of the competition for giving the children the opportunity to speak and show themselves.

The participants will be judged by a competent jury composed of cultural and art figures from Pridnestrovie. The final stage of the republican competition will be held in mid-April.
