Kitskany, with confidence in the future

Kitskany is 650. It is the oldest and, perhaps, one of the most beautiful villages of Pridnestrovie. The first mention of it in the documents is dated 1527, but archaeological monuments in the vicinity of the village testify to the presence of people here long before its foundation. By tradition, solemn events dedicated to this date began with the service in the Novo-Nyametsky Kitskany Monastery and the procession. The people were and are the main wealth of the Pridnestrovian village. Modern Kitskany village is multinational. Today there are about 8 thousand people. The village at various times was an integral part of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, our republic. And throughout its history, thanks to the labor and military exploits of the natives of Kitskany, the village was known far beyond its borders.

The director of the village history museum Tamara Ignatenko believes, the main thing is to remember the traditions and multiply them. Hard-working people always lived in Kitskany, the village was famous for its rich harvest of vegetables and fruits. The museum to the memorable dates prepares various exhibitions telling about the amazing history of the village. There are two new expositions to this anniversary. One of them is about people whose names are named streets of Kitskany. There are five of them.

One of the streets of the village is named after Elena Tchaikovsky, the first national teacher of the MSSR. She is a hereditary teacher. According to the local historian, the Teacher with a capital letter. In difficult postwar years, she gathered children in all the surrounding villages who were left without relatives, and replaced them with her own mother, she taught and brought them up in a rural children's home. Vyacheslav Abramovich - a young boy, a disciple of Tamara Ignatenko - was killed while fulfilling an international duty in Afghanistan. The school and the village street are of his name.
